Hello from Face Design Lab.
Some people in their nineties look, at a glance, as sprightly as someone in their sixties,
with a defined jawline and firm, full cheeks.
Have you ever wondered what their secret is?

Today, from the point of view of a Gangnam dermatology clinic doctor, let's start with
clearing out the damaging habits that make skin age.
The first step is not to keep adding expensive things.
The priority is to get rid of the habits that harm your skin.
“4 habits that keep skin youthful”

First: go to bed before midnight
Many of us lie in bed watching YouTube or dramas on our phones
and end up falling asleep in the small hours.
This small habit is one of the main culprits behind damaged skin.
Many people think, “If I sleep late but then sleep in, won't my skin
recover just the same?”
To give you the short answer: no, it really doesn't.
When you sleep matters far more than how long you sleep.
Between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m., our body runs
its skin-repair system at full capacity.
That is when the growth hormone that
keeps skin youthful is released most actively.
Miss this golden window, and the skin's ability to renew its cells drops
while dead skin cells build up and stay put.
That is why a regular routine of getting to bed before midnight,
however busy you are, matters so much.

Second: keep moving during the day
How many of us lie on the sofa or bed after a meal, just zoning out?
When the body stays still, lymphatic circulation slows right down.
As a result, the oxygen and nutrients your skin cells need are cut off,
firmness drops and your complexion turns sallow.
Walking for just an hour a day helps circulation to the face.
Even while watching TV, stretching now and then makes a real difference.

Third: don't leave your skin in a dry environment
Skin that has lost its moisture cracks like a field in a drought.
As water evaporates through a thinning skin barrier,
fine lines spread around the eyes and mouth.
Drink plenty of water instead of coffee or soft drinks,
and keep indoor humidity up with a humidifier.
Switching to caffeine-free teas is another good option.

Fourth: keep goals and a positive mindset
As a doctor, this is the part I find most fascinating.
You may well have seen someone whose face aged sharply
within just a year or two of retiring and starting to take life easy.
Medically speaking, when goals and a sense of purpose disappear,
the body's cell-renewal switch seems to turn down as well.
Constantly setting new goals and keeping your mind positive and engaged
can itself act as a natural boost for cell renewal, so please keep that in mind.
These four habits are the basics to take care of
long before any treatment or expensive cosmetics.
Even after a good treatment, if these habits aren't there to support it,
the results simply won't go as far.
In the next post, I'll explain why home care alone has its limits
and which treatments genuinely help skin regeneration.
